Keep an eye open for our "Slow Down - We report Speeders" Signs
On Friday evening, Nov. 8, 2002, the two signs designed to help control speeding in Rose Hill were stolen from their locations on Cottonwood Drive and the corner of Willowood and Saddle Tree. The police have been notified and RHCA is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest. Obviously, someone is taking great objection to our campaign to protect our community from speeders. If you see anyone speeding, get the license number and call the police non-emergency number 703-691-2131. Maybe the thief will get caught speeding!
If you have any information, call the police or one of the RHCA officers. Your information will be kept strictly confidential. We also are asking for information about the sign that was missing from the area near Lark lane and Rose Hill Drive in late September. It was a sign announcing our monthly meeting.
Breaking News!
One of our signs mysteriously reappearedNovember 14th after being missing for six days!

Heritage Plan Update
On Wednesday, October 23, the Fairfax County Planning Commission adopted a comprehensive plan amendment that limits development of the Heritage Academy site on May Boulevard in Rose Hill to that which is compatible with the entire community. The owner of the property had asked that the density be raised to 4-5 dwelling units per acres. The property is zoned R-3 which would allow approximately 2.6 dwelling units per acres. The previous plan language, adopted years ago when the property was known as the Meadowview Swim Club, identified the use as private recreation. The new language will call for potential residential development at 2-3 dwelling units per acre. The Rose Hill Civic Association and the Lee District Land Use Task Force supported rejection of the increase in density and recommended that residential density in the plan be compatible with the actual zoning. If you have questions, call Carl Sell at 703-971-4716.
