MAJOR INCIDENTS:

MALICIOUS WOUNDING

Springfield Mall 6500

On November 29 at 3:15 p.m., police officers responded to a report of a woman verbally abusing another woman. The first woman then pushed the second woman to the ground and began kicking her. Investigation revealed the altercation stemmed from a dispute over parking spaces in the mall parking lot. Natasha C. McKenna, 24, of 5305 Tessie Terrace in the Alexandria area was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. The victim, a Lorton area woman, 48, was transported to Inova Springfield Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

ROBBERIES

Richmond Highway 9400

On November 28 at about 7:00 p.m., a man pulled into the parking lot of the 7-Eleven and was approached by two men. One man started to pull a silver object from his coat pocket and demanded money. The victim relinquished cash and the suspects fled in an older model Nissan Altima occupied by two other men. The suspects were described as black with light complexions and in their 20's. Both men were wearing dark "fluffy" coats.

Richmond Highway/Pohick Road

On November 27 at about 4:45 p.m., a Lorton area boy, 14, was riding his bicycle, waiting at the intersection for traffic to clear when a man approached and demanded his bicycle. The boy refused and the suspect assaulted the boy. The boy fought back and retained possession of his bicycle as the suspect ran southbound on the bike path that parallels Richmond Highway. The boy's glasses broke during the altercation, but he was not seriously injured. The suspect was described as black, in his 30's, six feet tall and skinny with a deep, raspy voice.
