For Your Information:

The Community Policing Initiatives Division has scheduled the 4th session of the Fairfax County Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy (CPA). The CPA is a 30 hour program designed to provide members of the public a unique glimpse behind the badge. Class locations rotate to various police facilities throughout the County to provide citizens the best opportunity to view FCPD operations. The course is instructed on Thursday evenings, with exception of the last class which takes place on Saturday to facilitate instruction by the Drivers Training Track and the Firearms Range.

The Fall 2003 session will begin on Thursday, September 11, 2003. The classes will continue every Thursday evening through November 6th, with the final class being held on Saturday November 8, 2003.

We currently have several slots available in the upcoming class. Each District Station's Crime Prevention Officers have brochures for the CPA. Those interested in attending the Citizen Police Academy can fill out the application portion of the brochure and return it to the affixed address on the brochure (Community Policing Initiatives Division). Interested persons can also leave a message requesting additional information at 703-246-4536, or from CPO Phil Edwards at the Franconia District Station (703-922-8263).

No meeting in August. Have a great summer! The next CAC meeting will be on September 17.
