Weekly Incident Summary Report
July 24-30, 2003

Pine Drive, 7300 block   Detectives have obtained two warrants for robbery following an investigation into a home invasion robbery that occurred about 2:00 a.m. Monday, July 14. A 44-year-old Annandale area man was asleep in bed when two men came into his room, held him down and took cash from his room. The two suspects were last seen leaving the area on foot. The area was checked but the suspects were not found. The two suspects identified themselves as police officers; however, they did not display badges. After discovering her involvement in planning the robbery, detectives obtained a warrant for 29-year-old Melissa Overheu, of 4912 Brook Hills Drive in the Annandale area, who is acquainted with the victim. A warrant is also on file for 26-year-old Nick Rahall III, of 1251 Pine Hill Road in the McLean area, who was identified as one of the robbers. Overheu is described as white, five feet nine inches tall, weighing 125 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. Rahall is currently in custody in West Virginia for unrelated charges. The identity of the second robber is still under investigation.

A 44-year-old Mount Vernon area man is hospitalized in critical condition after an accident in his own driveway. Patrol Officers investigating the incident reported that a 12-year-old girl was attempting to move the family’s SUV inside the garage of their home in the 6200 block of Sibel Place when the accident occurred around noon on Wednesday, July 30, 2003. She lost control of the SUV, crashed through the garage door, hit the family member and drove into a tree and a light post at an adjacent house. The 12-year-old was initially charged with reckless driving, however, after a consultation with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office, it was decided the 12-year-old will not be prosecuted. ***NOTE*** Neither the name of the victim nor the family relationship will be released in this case in order to protect the identity of the juvenile.
