Citizens Advisory Committee
The next meeting of the Franconia District Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) will be held next Wednesday evening, March 19, at 730pm. Social time begins at 700pm.

Mature Operator's Driver Improvement Program (MODIP)
The Franconia District Station of the Fairfax County Police Department will be offering Virginia residents 55 and older enrollment in the Mature Operator's Driver Improvement Program (MODIP).This eight-hour class covers safe driving information for mature drivers. The course is sanctioned by the American Automobile Association (AAA) and is presented by certified Fairfax County Auxiliary Police Officers. Upon completion of this course, drivers are eligible for the Virginia State mandated insurance premium reduction (check with individual insurance carriers for the amount). The classes are held the second Saturday of each month.

The next MODIP class is being held at the Franconia District Station located at 6121 Franconia Road, on Saturday, April 12, 2003, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A subsequent seminar is scheduled for May 10, 2003. Registration is required and can be done by contacting the MODIP reservations line at (703) 924-6588. The fee for this course is $10 per person for books and materials.

Springfield Mall 6500:   Two people were arrested after they fought with an Alexandria area man, 25, and stabbed him several times. William James Bonds, 19, of 1331 Miller Heights Road in the Alexandria area was charged with malicious wounding. A Fairfax area boy, 15, was released to his parents and juvenile petitions were pending. The victim was treated at a nearby hospital.


Webbwood Court 7600:   On Tuesday, March 11 about 6:15 p.m., police officers responded to a domestic assault complaint where 38-year-old John Guglieelmo of the Springfield area, assaulted his 43-year-old wife. Guglieelmo was arrested and taken to the Adult Detention Center where he was given a $1,500 unsecured bond. Guglieelmo is employed with the Fairfax County Public Schools system as a safety and security officer.

Heming Avenue 5700 License plate taken from parked vehicle.
Landsdowne Center 6400 Gasoline taken from service station without payment being made.
Leebrad Street 7000 Cash reported stolen.
Old Keene Mill Road 7000 Gasoline taken from service station without payment being made.
Rock Ridge Lane 7100 Purse taken from business office.
Roudsby Lane 6200 Two wheels taken from parked vehicle.
Springfield Mall 6500 Purse taken from parked vehicle.
Spring Village Drive 7400 License plates taken from parked vehicle.
