ROBBERY

Gunston Plaza 7700

On January 24 at about 4:00 p.m., a man entered the Super Highs store and bought a pack of candy. Approximately five minutes later, the man returned to purchase cigarettes. The clerk, a 28-year-old Lorton area man, asked for identification. A brief exchange of words took! place between the two, and the customer suddenly brandished a handgun, vaulted the counter and announced a robbery. The victim relinquished cash from both registers, as well as a deposit bag. The suspect was last seen running south through the shopping center. He was described as black, five feet eight inches tall and weighed 155 pounds. He was wearing a black coat and black jeans.

ANIMAL RELATED INCIDENTS

Backlick Road 6500

On January 29 about 12:45 p.m., a cat named "Buddy," who lives on Milford Court in the Springfield area, was brought into the Springfield Animal Hospital after being spray painted. A pinkish red hair dye was used and almost entirely covered the cat. Other than the paint, the cat was not injured. This is the second time this has happened in the past five days, but the first case was not reported.
